“Alright team, that’s a wrap!”
Olivia, a muscular built, brown-haired cop with piercing blue eyes and a beautiful olive hue stated as she took a seat at her once again messy desk.
Honestly, how many times have I cleaned this desk up to find it the way it was before?
“Hey Olivia! Wondering about your desk again, huh?” Jason, the Chinese playboy cop winked while smirking in Olivia’s direction.
Without facing him, Olivia gave Jason the finger and got up to get some donuts and coffee.
“Yeesh. What a woman!” Jason exclaimed while he ran his right hand through his soft black hair and his left hand massaged his face which was pale and cold like the rest of his body.
The case that the two partners had closed got on their nerves and they’ve been stressing for a week straight. They were just glad that they found the culprits before they found any other victims lying dead in the middle of nowhere.

Olivia returned 20 minutes later from Dunkin Donuts with 2 coffees and a box full of a dozen donuts. She placed one coffee in front of Jason, sat at her desk and placed the box of donuts between themselves. Since their desks were in front of one another, it was very easy to share their food.
Jason menacingly rubbed his hands together as if he were an evil mad-scientist and dove for the Boston Kremes.
“Hahaha. Now this is what I’m talking about!”
He kicked his legs up on his desk, crossed them, and leaned back into his chair. He brought the Boston Kreme to his lips and took a bite of it. The soft fried dough with vanilla creme filling and the chocolate glaze on top was heaven to Jason. Although Jason loved sweets, he was more on the lean side with muscles that bulged excessively through his uniform.
This is so good. I can eat a…
“JASON! OLIVIA!”
Jason’s train of thought was abruptly cut off and he bolted upright and choked on his Boston Kreme while Olivia spat her coffee directly onto Jason. Jason now dripping wet with warm coffee, and stained with vanilla creme from his Boston Kreme that was now helplessly lying on the floor, turned to the head detective and saluted him as did Olivia.
“Detective Bullock! How are you sir?”
Olivia and Jason questioned the head detective in unison, trying to prove to him the latter was the best of them.
“Not so good. And please, just call me Jack. I sound old when you say that.”
The two head cops stared at one another and nodded their heads proving to the head detective that they understood that he should continue.
“There’ve been a series of murders occurring more frequently right outside of town. I’m pretty sure all the killings were done by the same person or people. I want you to find out who did it.”
Jack, the middle-aged head detective slammed the file he’d been holding in his hands onto Olivia and Jason’s desks and walked off with his dad belly protruding before him.
“OMG! The head detective himself just gave us a case to work on. We have to do our best Jason, we just have to!”
“Okay… Don’t get all girly now, Ollie.”
Olivia clearly excited that the head detective gave them a case himself, was too preoccupied to snap at Jason. She wanted to prove to Detective Bullock her worth so that she may be promoted to a detective.
Jason, agreeing with Olivia, nodded his head, “Yeah we have to work quickly, thoroughly, and catch the right culprit.”
Olivia turned toward her team which was only 4 other cops under her and Jason and informed them of their new assignment.
Morgan, Reed, Stephanie and Penelope all listened to what Olivia had to say then jumped up one by one suggesting what they had to do next.
“Let’s actually open the file first, and examine the pictures,” the newest and 2nd youngest of the cops stated.
Reed, having beat everyone to it and already looking at the pictures responded, “All the victims are women.”
Stephanie came up behind Reed and noted, “They’re all also Caucasian.”
Penelope snatched the file away and searched the recent databases of murdered Caucasian women just outside of town.
“Looks like they were all in their early 20’s,” she stated.
“Good job team,” Olivia encouraged. “Let’s try to dig deeper. Find the murder weapon, how were they killed? Did they die slowly? Quickly? How long did the killer let them live before killing them? Ask yourselves these questions and get to work!”
The team hurriedly took their places and started frantically making and answering phone calls.

“Did you notice anything strange going on with Jessica lately?” Reed who has a PhD in psychology, asked the latest victim’s mother while trying to read all her intentions and stuff she may possibly try to hide.
Jessica’s mother, Gloria, stared at her daughter’s picture. Her dirty-blonde straight hair shone in the sunlight. Her pure hazel eyes shimmered with happiness that was now empty in Jessica’s family. Jessica’s smile was unbeatable even compared to celebrities; they were the real pearl whites. She had a beautiful golden-brown tan and bikini lines showing from the off-shoulder top she was wearing in the photo.
“Jessica had a love for running, especially in the evenings. She’d claim that it was a way for her to stay fit and the timing helped her schedule.”
Gloria looked down at her feet and suddenly became silent. The old woman’s fine lines and wrinkles were visible from 30 feet away. Her red lips pursed as if she had tasted something sour. She had cold-blue eyes which were filling to the brim with tears. Her eyelashes wet and sticking to one another, she looked up at the young cop sitting across from her.
“Yes? Is there something else Gloria?” Reed questioned.
Gloria slowly nodded her head. “Lately, Jessica has been getting home later than usual. And she would always have these bags under her eyes. Her cheeks became hollow and sunken. Please! You gotta find my baby!”
Gloria clung to Reed for dear life and slowly slid to the floor. Reed helped her up and took her to the waiting room.
Getting home later than usual, bags under her eyes, her cheeks hollow and sunken. Sounds like one thing that could cause this, drugs!
Reed went over to his team to inform them of his findings.
Stephanie, Morgan, Penelope, Olivia and Jason were waiting for Reed at their office. Reed walked in, dragging his feet on the ground and shaking his head.
“What happened?” Stephanie questioned Reed with a concerned look on her face.
“Well,” Reed responded. “Drugs are definitely involved in this.”
All the cops felt defeated. None of them liked to deal in a case that involved drugs. But they were cops, so they had to.
“Alright, so Jessica was abducted in her neighborhood, Golden Creek Valley. Let’s head there and check the scene out and bring along the K-9’s.”
The cops marched out with the goal to find Jessica, alive and quickly. The K-9’s barked with excitement as they were ready for an adventure. They boarded the van and headed to Golden Creek Valley. It was about a half-hour ride, no one said anything.
What are the possibilities of this occurring multiple times? Reed questioned himself. He was clearly distressed about what had happened.
The van came to a sudden halt and the cops along with their dogs were jostled. They jumped out of the van. They were definitely in Golden Creek Valley. A wide street, with houses on either side and lots of greenery, a lot like Englishtown, New Jersey.
Bishop K-9 started sniffing around and eventually found a pair of grey women’s sports shorts lying in a ditch next to the road.
“Oh my GOD… What now?” said Olivia, clearly pissed with finding the shorts as she was an extreme feminist.
“Oh hi everyone! I’m glad you made it to the crime scene.”
All the cops turned around to find Jack Bullock, the head detective, holding a gun towards them the turned it to the girl on the ground next to him. He was holding her by her golden locks and she was trying to fight back, but afraid he would shoot her brains out.
The girl, pale, naked and shaking all over, looked up with fear written all over her face.
“Detective Bullock! What are you doing?” Jason and Olivia exclaimed in unison as if they were identical twins.
“I’m here to show you all who I really am and to get rid of each and every one of you. I HATE YOU ALL!”
The cops tried to arm themselves, but to no avail. Jack had the upper-hand and he shot first. He hit Reed and the youngest of the cops was down, bleeding out.
“Get a medic!” Penelope screamed.
Jack silenced her next. Then, one by one, he killed all the cops in sight. When he was done, he looked back at the ground to find nothing. Jessica came up behind Jack and bashed him with a fold up chair she found inside the police van. She then picked up the upholstered gun that was around Stephanie’s waist and held it out towards Jack.
Jack, now on the ground and doubled-over in pain, looked up at her and with his eyes dared her to shoot him.
Jessica pulled back the trigger and-
POP! POP!
The sound of gunshots echoed throughout Golden Creek Valley. Jessica’s hair now stained with red proved that she was dead.
Jack looked up and smiled. “My boy, I’m proud of you, son!”
Morgan beamed an evil but glorious smile, and proceeded to help his old father up. They got into the police van and started driving toward Pennsylvania, away from New York, where they would start their lives all over again.
